Divya Delhi: Arab leaders' Gaza rehabilitation plan was rejected by the Trump administration. The Trump administration said Trump's vision is unwavering. He wants to deport Palestinians and turn the land into a US-owned “riviera”. White House National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes stated, “The current proposal does not address the reality that Gaza is currently uninhabitable and residents cannot humanely live in a territory covered in debris and unexploded ordnance.” President Trump remains committed to rebuilding Gaza without Hamas. He said he looked forward to more conversations to restore peace and prosperity to the region. Egypt's postwar Gaza plan called for Hamas to hand over power to an interim administration until a reformed PA could take over. The plan would allow 2 million Palestinians to stay, unlike Trump's idea. First elections in over 20 years will be held in the West Bank, Gaza, and occupied East Jerusalem “if circumstances are suitable,” according to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports Trump's "different Gaza." Arab states propose rebuilding Gaza by 2030 for USD 53 billion. Unexploded munitions and nearly 50 million tons of rubble from Israel's bombardment and military offensives will be removed in the first phase. Jordanian officials claimed Trump will receive the plan in weeks. Some Arab states supported Egypt's plan, but the extent is unknown. CNN reports that the proposal proposes shopping complexes, an international convention center, and an airport within five years. Resorts and Mediterranean coast improvements are also intended to attract tourists. It also acknowledges the challenges of disarming Gazan terrorists. “It is something that can be dealt with, and even ended forever, only if its causes are removed through a clear horizon and a credible political process.”
