Divya Delhi: Social media personality and actress Apoorva Makhija's name has been deleted off IIFA's roster of promoters, sources said, adding she is "no more officially included in the list" of persons previously picked. IIFA 2025 is March 8–9 in Jaipur. Makhija was an IIFA promoter. However, on Friday, IIFA officials announced that her name has been deleted from the roster of IIFA promoters following the major outcry over podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's obscene statements on 'India's Got Latent'. She was also a part of the team of panelists. A legal case was made in Kota against prominent YouTubers Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija for reportedly lewd and disrespectful remarks about parents in their comedy show "India's Got Latent." The complaint, made by a group of attorneys at Nayapura police station, argues that the show encourages obscenity under the pretense of comedy, which they argue is an attack on India's social and moral norms. Lawyers Ritesh Gurjar, Hemlata Sharma, Yash Kumar Nagar, Vishwas Shaktawat, Arvind Rathore, and Rukhsar Syed, the complainants, said that this content harms society, especially young, and destroys traditional values. The scandal began when Allahbadia made vulgar comments on India's Got Latent, a reality program with comedians and influencers as judges and contestants. The comments, judged obscene by many, sparked uproar and complaints nationwide. Assam Police also filed a case for obscenity and public morals.
