Divya Delhi : On Thursday afternoon, an Air India aircraft carrying 242 people crashed in Meghaninagar, Gujarat, close to Ahmedabad airport. Smoke billowed from the airport grounds in a dense cloud. The aircraft was in route to London from Ahmedabad. In the meantime, Union Home Minister Amit Shah apologized for the jet crash to the Gujarat Chief Minister, Home Minister, and Police Commissioner. He also promised to offer support from the central government. A huge cloud of black smoke rose after the plane, which was headed for London, crashed into the Meghani neighborhood of the city, prompting an emergency response. There were 230 passengers, two pilots, and ten cabin crew members on board the aircraft, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kundar were in charge of the aircraft.Because the aircraft was extensively fueled for the lengthy flight, the explosion and flames that followed the crash were more intense.To conduct rescue efforts, numerous fire engines and ambulances have been dispatched to the scene of the collision.As of this now, there is no official confirmation regarding casualties.
