Divya Delhi:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation and subsequent downfall point Bangladesh on the direction of possibly closer ties with India. Dhaka proposes a possible historic meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mohammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the Bangladeshi interim administration. PM Modi will meet Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Wednesday in Thailand for the 6th BIMSTEC Summit (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation). "Bangladesh sent a formal meeting request with optimism regarding its prospects of success," Khalilur Rahman, the High Representative to the Chief Adviser on Rohingya issues and other important subjects, confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune. Rahman expressed excitement by informing reporters that, based on the newspaper's story, this meeting was most likely to occur. When the news broke, the BSS news agency, citing an unnamed source, declared that the leaders will meet for discussions during the summit.
