Divya Delhih : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi have joined forces to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. The new center, which has received a grant of 330 crore, will use artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to tackle some of the most serious public health issues in India. Cancer, TB, eye disorders, and other complicated health issues can be better detected and treated with the use of AI-based tools and solutions that the CoE will develop and implement to bolster important national health programs. Additionally, it will assist physicians and frontline health workers by developing decision-support tools, predictive healthcare analytics, and enhanced diagnostic technologies. In this partnership, AIIMS Delhi will offer clinical insights, access to real-world health data, and knowledge of public health systems, while IIT Delhi will offer its capabilities in computer science, data analytics, and AI modeling. We anticipate that the collaboration between these two world-class universities will provide cost-effective, scalable solutions that can be implemented throughout India's healthcare systems, both in urban and rural areas.
