The CRPF provides Z-category security for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The attack occurred Wednesday morning at her Civil Lines camp office during a Jan Sunwai’ ceremony. Various sources say the transfer of security for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta from the Delhi Police to the CRPF will be accomplished within hours. Delhi Police will guard the Chief Minister's residence's perimeter, while the CRPF will handle her personal and area-specific protection. Officials said that customized security measures protect Rekha Gupta 24/7. Rajesh Khimji Sakaria, a 41-year-old resident of Rajkot, Gujarat, attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta heard residents' issues one by one at 7 am on Wednesday. Around 8 am, Rajesh Khimji Sakariya handed the CM a document, yelled, and allegedly smacked, yanked her hair, and assaulted her. He was detained immediately after security restrained him. As he undergoes questioning at the Civil Lines police station, Delhi Police are verifying his personal details with Gujarat authorities. CM Gupta was examined after the incident. Despite her safety, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said Gupta was “shaken.” He denied slapping or hitting the CM. He thought the man pulling her looked like a fighter.The accused's mother told reporters the attack's motive. She claimed that Rajesh, a dog lover, was furious about sending canines to shelter homes, a contentious issue in Delhi.
