Divya Delhi: India's largest private thermal power generator, Adani Power Ltd. (APL), acquired and resolved VIPL for INR 4,000 crore. The 2x300 MW VIPL power plant is situated at Butibori, Nagpur district, Maharashtra. This acquisition boosts APL's capacity to 18,150 MW. APL is expanding its base load power production portfolio with brownfield and greenfield projects. At its existing locations in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Kawai, Rajasthan, it is building six brownfield Ultra-supercritical power plants (USCTPP) of 1,600 MW each and a greenfield USCTPP at Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, it is resuming the development of a 1,320 MW Supercritical power plant at Korba it previously bought. This would make APL India's largest private base load power generator with 30,670 MW of operating capacity by 2030. Adani Power's goal to capture value through stressed asset turnaround is marked by VIPL's acquisition. As we expand our portfolio, we are committed to supporting India's objective of ‘Electricity for All' by providing reliable, affordable base-load electricity that fuels sustainable growth,” said SB Khyalia, Adani Power Ltd. CEO.
