DIVYA DELHI: Political parties have stepped up their poll efforts ahead of the Lok Sabha fourth phase on May 13. At a political rally in Telangana on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning the party's unusual quiet on Adani and Ambani and whether they got industrialist money.
At a public meeting in Karimpur, Telangana, PM Modi remarked that for years the Congress' 'Shehzada' spoke of '5 industrialists' but now just speaks of "Ambani and Adani" and is mute on them. Later that day, PM Modi, TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan held a roadshow in Vijayawada. He will do a roadshow in Bhubaneswar on May 10 and attend electoral rallies on May 11 ahead of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections. The police have increased security for PM's event. On Wednesday, the Election Commission reported a 65.68% voter turnout in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, with Assam leading. Over 1300 candidates competed in the third phase on Tuesday in 93 constituencies in 11 states and Union Territories. In the Lok Sabha Election 2024, the INDIA bloc and the Narendra Modi-led NDA are the main contenders. INDIA includes Congress, AAP, TMC, etc., while NDA includes BJP, PMK, JDU, etc. The NDA is seeking a third term with echoes of ‘abki baar 400 paar’, while the opposition INDIA alliance is pledging MSP for farmers and cash handouts to women.
