Divya Delhi: A plan to install 62 CCTV cameras in the "congested" Sadar Bazar region, which witnesses hundreds of visits every day, has been finalized by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). They also mentioned that the authority's control center in Sector 44 will be accessible from all of the CCTVs. The goal of the surveillance project, according to GMDA authorities, is to reduce encroachments, improve traffic management, and prevent crime in one of the city's busiest market locations. Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma suggested the idea at a meeting in January, according to a top GMDA official. After that, a three-person team including the SHO of the Sadar police station and two GMDA personnel surveyed the area extensively to find the best spots to put the equipment. The area will need approximately 230 cameras in total for monitoring purposes. Approximately 2.79 crore rupees will be needed for the provision of equipment, installation, commissioning, and testing. An official from the GMDA predicted that the overall cost would be close to ₹3.5 crore.
