Audiences debated Nandamuri Balakrishna, 64, and Urvashi Rautela, 30, due to their age differences. The casting was criticized as unrealistic and awkward. Vagdevi's Dabidi Dibidi was heavily criticized. Social media users called the dance “vulgar” and “cringe-worthy.” Shekhar Master choreographed the dance, which contained Balakrishna's famous lines, but audiences were underwhelmed. Urvashi Rautela told The Hollywood Reporter India, “It is hard to assess why people are talking about the choreography in this way.” Urvashi was trolled for her comments on Saif Ali Khan's stabbing during a promotional event. She focused on the film's Rs. 105 crore box office revenue and flaunted her pricey jewelry instead of worrying. She told   “It is very unfortunate. The movie Daaku Maharaaj grossed over ₹105 crore at the box office. My parents gave me a diamond-studded Rolex and a tiny watch, but we are not comfortable wearing them publicly. She apologized after public uproar but erased it, drawing new criticism. Many accused her of exploiting the controversy. Fans noted Urvashi Rautela was missing from the cinema poster when Netflix India South announced its debut. Her absence sparked suspicion about her role being minimized. Netflix reportedly cut Urvashi's scenes from Daaku Maharaaj. When Netflix originally excluded her from film promotions, the uproar escalated. Netflix released character slides, including two Urvashi photos, amid fan outrage. After rumors circulated, sources denied her scenes were deleted. Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Shine Tom Chacko, Sachin Khedekar, and Pradeep Rawat star in Bobby Kolli's Daaku Maharaaj. Though controversial, the film has remained in the public eye, securing its position in the discourse.
