Divya Delhi : Hundreds of vehicles are stalled on NH-19 for almost four days. Since day one, they've been bumper-to-bumper. Heavy rain in Rohtas, Bihar, swamped the six-lane construction company's National Highway 19 diversions and service lanes. The traffic congestion grows every hour due to potholes and waterlogging forcing vehicles to skid. Even a few kilometers takes hours. Traffic on the highway has reached Aurangabad, 65 kilometers from Rohtas. The local administration's plan never works. Neither the NHAI nor the road building company has acted. The situation is so bad that vehicles can only travel 5 km/day. Two truck drivers are worried about their survival food supplies. If clearing traffic takes hours again, their livelihood and goals are put in risk. Traffic jams also affect pedestrians, ambulances, emergency services, and tourists. After paying tolls, road charges, and other fees, we still have hours of traffic. Praveen Singh, a truck driver stuck in the bottleneck, said NHAI and local administrative workers are absent.“Stuck in traffic for two days. We are miserable, hungry, and thirsty. Another truck driver, Sanjay Singh, said even a few km take hours.
