Punjab has 842 clinics, 312 urban and 530 rural. Besides free medical care, these facilities offer 80 free drugs and 38 free diagnostic tests. Free blood testing include diabetes screenings. Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh recently stated that these clinics serviced 58,900 patients daily, with an average of 70 persons per facility, reinforcing the Bhagwant Mann government's commitment to free, high-quality healthcare. In a statement, he said 90 lakh visits showed the clinics' broad accessibility and 1.10 crore re-visits showed patients' trust and happiness. These clinics helped reduce individual healthcare costs by Rs 1,030 crore, he claimed.
